Hunner EXtreme Skids

One of my first mods after seeing the damage that can be done to the undercarriage was to make some better skids for the spring hangers. GM chose to place the springs under the axle leaving a lot of things hanging down. Early skids were sold thru dealers that supposedly came from AM General (Hummer) they of course had the Hummer/Dealer tax added on. (inflated price) They were thin, not gusseted or slot located assembly, too narrow to protect the lower shock mounting bolt and were only for the rear hanger assembly.
I found a local place with a laser CNC machine that could precision cut these in large quantities and weld them up. We designed them wider, stronger and made a front pair. Both pieces to work as a skid forward and back  would have to be shaped to conform to the existing assembly so were limited in design to conform to that. I continue to tweak the design as testing and different shocks become available.
